Can you actually bring your dog punting with you?
Hence on the 20th of September we celebrated Wet Nose Day, a day to create awareness about mankind’s best friend whilst raising funds for various struggling Animal Rescue Centres. Moreover this crucial fundraising allows centres to buy necessary equipment and food to take care of the animals as well as paying off outdated vet bills, it effectively helps their daily invaluable work . #wetnosefunday
Therefore Wet Nose Day is also a reminder of how important our furry friends are in our lives. In other words, making them happy is our responsibility, since we choose to have pets in our homes, we have to provide them with all the love and care they deserve. Unfortunately some animals are abandoned or mistreated. So Wet Nose Day highlights the work that centres do, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted and uncared for animals, so they can find their forever homes.
TRADITIONAL – DOG FRIENDLY – PUNTING COMPANY
In fact at the Traditional Punting Company we also regard our customers happiness and enjoyment highly. In reality we know that their furry friends bring them joy and companionship so we allow dogs to come aboard to be a part of the experience.
As revealed by, on a regular basis, both our customers and their dogshave a very pleasant journey. Not only enjoying the glide and the stunning views of the ‘College Backs’ but also, watching the wonderful wildlife that seems to keep both humans and animals occupied.
Sunny days with your dogs on board!
Summertime is for sure, the most popular time of the year to go punting in Cambridge, and is often the season where we see more dogs going for a swim in the River Cam to keep cool, either before or after the tour. Let’s be honest, they know how to have fun!
What’s more, it is a lovely surprise when customers share with us, on social media, their experiences punting with their furry friend. It is great looking through all the photos which captures the not so traditional side of punting on the River Cam. It is common to see dogs taking in everything that is around them on our guided tours, paying attention to the movement of the water, to the splashes created by the pole, to even the people crossing the bridges along the river, but especially to their fellow companions on other punts. We secretly think they communicate with one another about how lucky they are to experience this!
If you have a doggy, please feel free to bring them along! We normally recommend booking a private tour, so you and your best friend have more space to enjoy a round trip on the River Cam. However, there is also the option to bring your well behaved (small to medium sized) dog onboard a shared tour, we do nonetheless have to ask the other guests onboard whether they are happy for the dog to come along too (this is never normally a problem), but it could mean that you may have to wait for the next departure. And the good news is that dogs are free of charge!
We can’t wait to see you and your wet nosed friend on one of our chauffeured punt tours.
